For me it works after downloading all files necessary. You should get the missing files abort by OA via the internet (here it was pro-q3tourney7.pk3).

No. These were just maps i put into that directory, but once i realised it forces you to download everything I deleted them.

pro-q3tourney7.pk3 and lots of other q3 maps have missing textures.

I restarted teh server but i used the default OA config then added the mod and copied the settings to it. Maybe things need to be set and/or ive not done it properly :)

Thats why I wanted someone to try it.. I am pleased more than one person managed to connect :)

I didnt have a problem with that first map, it comes with various skin colors... its just the bottom floor thats light. But on OA people tell me they dont have green crosshairs so suprised when OA players ask for it :)

ye, the lack of changeable ch colors is annoying, i made an oa-forum post.
( openarena.ws/board/ind...pic=1563.0 , maybe write your opinions there, it may help for the next version whatever)
and then again the discussion of unlagged thing:
i am really not a fan of it because it destroys the gameplay. on the 1on1 situation i noticed that dodging becomes just useless because you hit always while moving only on short distances.
unlagging makes only sense for situations with long air time.

i m currently downloading stuff from the server, but now the dl in oa is capped to 12-14 kb/s...
i have a warning in the console:
WARNING: servers allows download redirection, but does not have sv_dlURL set

hmm... there were about half a dozen things but we started testing noghost which means the url was different again.

The configs obviously have to be updated and was updating these one at a time. But Jacks the man :D NG sorted on OA. I believe NG can be used along with other mods too as NG allows you to change most of the engine options which isn't normally available

kernel - well usually its me playing they kind of jokes on everyone else and noone understands if Im being serious. You have no idea just how happy that would make some people. Keep it quiet please ssshh :)

ok Noghost..

/connect q3eu.com:30000 = 1v1. I will also put vsp stats up for this. some problems exist and i now know why.

My file structures have always been a disastor, but if it works It's enough for me. I have maps everywhere. I dont even know what the home dir is created for except for the live config. sometimes i have maps in there, sometimes not. Sometimes I have maps in about 6 places.

I now realise that a map will register if its in baseoa.. it will also load if its in the mod dir, I started using the mod dir more often since I thouhgt the gametypes meant you can keep them seperate and manage them better. But this is what forces all the uploads before you join. I wil clean this out. I also have one or two rogue configs which may have a setting which will mess things up. Someone must have done it yesterday :)

The setting is sv_strictauth 1 ... ie. the cd check. I just done a rconaddress and got back in to turn that off. Apart from that its fine.

btw.. that mod for missing textures is awesome. i just seen that by chance in irc.


/connect q3eu.com:40000 = TDM. THis is actually set up properly and has loads of maps. I had no choice but to leave Jack with rcon since noone responsible was around at the time. 5 mins after i gave Jack rcon my fps went to 60. :) I dont know if normal q3 players can connect but if so maybe we can organise an OA vs Q3 team game. I suppose we could also try get Maverick along too (just in case things arent set up properly cos i usualy need to spec while i go check google).

Chick, use this NoGhost.pk3 then... instead of the self-compiled cgame.qvm to make NoGhost work with OA I've added one from Q3A...

If this doesn't work either.. you have to tell Mav to compile his NoGhost again and also include the cgame.qvm

It works on port 40000. I'm not sure why 30000 dies. I just noticed it this morning. It might be on map reset.
