It is not what the name implies. What were you promised?

He probably read the remarks in the config and was dissapointed with the results :D

I might have tried it myself if i hadn't spotted the cg_bobup stuff etc ;P

hm Joki i think the R_mode isnt the problem. The cfg set it automaticly back to 3 ;-)

And Lini i think i know the Problem now.
I know that you have updated your driver and the other software, but follow my following Points and i think(hope) it will run.

1. I know that you use the card GeForce 7600 GS

2. are you have look in the cardsystem, if the openGl for the card is on?
You can turn it on and off ;)

3.Download this: www.nvidia.de/object/w...71_de.html

4. Download this too if the 3 point dont want work.: de.nodevice.com/driver...37245.html

5. Before you install the drivers for your Graphiccard, uninstall the software from the card in the system. /start/systemsteuerung/software/Nivida blablabla :-)

6.when you have uninstall it, make a newstart.

7.Now install the 1 driverpacket where you have download. You pc will you say that a new device found, but ignore it and install the driver by yourself.
I know the installer will install first the standartdriver for your card. If it done, you install your downloaded driver with the software!!!

8. Try now to start the game. when it run ok, when not install the other driver but now without to uninstall the other!!!

9.Tell us if it could help

Well, that happened to me when I set r_mode to an unsopprted(wrong) value and when I had no OGL supporting driver for my gfx...

+1 for snoo.

try a stock video mode like r_mode 3

or use r_mode -1 and set customaspects res.
no I get only '' Setting r_mode -1 failed, falling back on r_mode 3'' doesnt matter which value I put. I try already from -1 until 10 :-)

Sascha thanks for the tipps but ... it doesnt work!! :O)
I made step by step ... of course without CD it didnt work because PCI system board didnt work ...
another question?
what is difference between :
***93.71_forceware_winxp2k_international_whql.exe and
***181.20_geforce_winxp_32bit_international_whql.exe
doesnt matter if I install both of them or single ----I get the same ...

F:\openarena-0.8.1/baseoa

execing q3config.cfg
couldn't exec autoexec.cfg
Hunk_Clear: reset the hunk ok

I try already to roll back my Win XP to december 2008 when OA 0.8.1 worked properly but ... it was really chaos :ops: ... and it didnt help

Back to my 1st assumption:
Could not load OpenGL Subsystem:
\-> Something is wrong with your drivers, not what you have in your oa-folders.

- Have you tried running dxdiag and check if some dx-files are missing?
- Have you tried running directx webupdate?
- Are you sure, you uninstalled the old drivers and rebooted before you installed the new ones?
- Have you ensured Hardware-Acceleration is set to max?
- If you are using an fx-card that uses an external power supply (like my power-eating radeon 9800 pro) ensure the connector for the external power supply isnt loose. otherwise it will only run in non-hardware-accelerated-mode producing this error aswell
- Have you tried running sfc /scannow from command line?
(I know its used to find missing system files, not missing graphic driver related files.)
- Have you ASKED THE ORACLE?

I did like you asking ...
* I always restard PC after installing drivers, yes I did it
* dxdiag and check, yes I did it: no missing files and the tests says that I have Directx 9 acceleration on
* So I have newest Directx= 9.0 c
*Hardware-Acceleration yes is on and max
* no extra power suppy for fc card
* sfc /scannow I did it and ... it works
:harr: :harr: :harr: :harr: :harr: :harr: :harr:
