Hi ppl.
I dont know whats going on with my fps, im on a laptop, I normaly get >100 fps.
My Video Card is : Ati Radeon Xpress 200M series.

Its the first time i get this low fps, it started one week ago or so...
I dont know why, im running Win XP, my Antivirus is off, msn off, everything off, im only running OA and the damn fps are still low sometimes... There is no virus, spyware or something like that...

OA setup:
GL driver = default
GL extensions = off
Video Mode = 1024X768
No fullscreen
Vertex Light and all the textures= bilinear, low, 16 bit, etc... even sound = LOW...

Plz take a look to my demo so u can give me any advice.

Thanks.

My pc is a Toshiba Satellite...

And as u can see near the blue port, the left side of it is really hot.

Only nVidia drivers show temps, everest is great for measuring temps. Also, sgouldnt glextensions be on?

Also, remove the old gfx/chipset drivers and get the latest, that might help too. After you uninstall the old drivers make sure you use THIS tool ( downloads.guru3d.com/G...d1655.html ) to remove residual files that might fcuk your new driver installation.

One more tip, if you get poor battery life/heat problems a BIOS update for your lappy is a good thing. Just make sure you get the correct bios for your lappy. Most vendors have easy to use exe's you can run from windows.

Good luck!

GL extensions really should be on...

Are you absolutely sure about the malware?

and nothing else running in Task Manager, etc.

Maybe play around with /r_picmip
If you set it so something like 6 you will have very vague textures - not sure if it realy increases your fps though.

Nope comic style (picmip 8 or higher) doesn't increases the FPS it's a false rumour!

Thanks a lot to all of you for the suggestions :)

Talking to Jackie last night I realised what the real problem was...
This shit started 1 month ago or so... when the heat wave came, till now, its summer... so, i didnt have this problem in winter... that explains a lot of things.

I tried to open my laptop by myself cause i thought about some dust inside or something like that... but the fan has a protection and its impossible for ME to open my pc... =p Anyways, i dont think there is any dust nor fluff nor nothing anymore...

So.... finally... I was thinking in some insane ideas at first... "lets put my pc into the fridge for a while, before each important match =P" (same idea Jackie told me yesterday =p LOL!!) but then i just decided to use this..!!!!

My own ice bag =p made with the Kellog's flakes plastic bag LOL, im laughing so bad.... and this obviously works..

I got SpeedFan, a really nice software to controll my pc's temperature. Originally it was 82º then, using "ME's IceBag" ( LOL ) it went 59º in 10 minutes :)

Ok, now, Thanks again my friends.. :)
And see ya soon.

Lol ... nice idea ... but ... just pay attention to the external ( relatively to your "icebox" ) condensation ;)

Condensation isent a problem because its distilled water, and that doesent conduct electric current.

Anyways, ROTFL!!!!!

Dude, ME, try if you can to get to your cpu, you might be able to remove the heatsink and replace the cooling paste with another thats better (google for it). This can also in some cases drop temps down up to 5°C!

Another cool idea would be to place a flexible tube in front an air conditioner and take it all the way to the air intake of the lappy to get it cooled (dust and condensation free)... or if you have ac why the hell dont you cool the whole room down to 20°C \:D/
