ah yes. it used to run on the prost FFA q3 OSP server a lot. and i fell into lava a lot there too, while trying to jump to the MH from the upper plateau. :s

hehe.. any demos? :/ I rarely went into the lava, I used to put my tent up at a safe location and watch people fall in... it was similar to the sight of people attempting to jump bridge to rail on q3dm6 and see them slide down to the floor missing it by a fraction :hoho:

People usually beat me to the mh so I used to launch a few rockets up there instead which occasionally had positive results :)

So here is my custom collection on noghost 1.16 with all weapons with a cpma based config but tend to stick to vq3 physics.

No download function exists on this version so need a mappack so people can download it.

Ideally I want to make them suitable for 1v1 and FFA using different configs.. some small to medium sized are in there so I can mix and match rotations while some maps are equally playable on ffa and 1v1.

No self damage is enabled and players spawn with a teleporter making it a fast rocket jumping frenzy and killing opponents is the main objective - and you won't be punished practising rocket jumping on jump pads etc.

The teleporter is good for bad spawn escapes and if the map is bigger and get bored looking for enemy you can choose to use teleporter and sometimes find yourself behind the opponent... or end up wasting it spawning at the same area :)

.. but I want to keep the size low, it's currently 30mb.. it would also be desirable to use small map files so I can fit more in and be more worthwhile with more map options so players can quickly dl and play.

The contents will rarely change due to the lack of dl support so maybe some players familiar with custom maps can recommend any, or suggest replacements since I might not know them.

Most maps will be completely new to most players since they usually play vanilla q3 maps.

It has to be REALLY good for custom textured maps :)

I dont want to go much over 30mb and dont want to edit the file if someone complains a map is poo or I've missed some really good one which most people know. My map knowledge is poor. Most maps should have a good balance of ramps, if any. (ie. not too many as it will be crap on vq3).

Many good maps are only 350kb and im poo at maths and too lazy to launch the calculator to work out the map count... yet if I did I would still pretend i done it in my head :)

Yet if all maps are 5mb then we only get a max of 5. (j/k)

The 1v1 server will have the selection of maps and promode as votable.

Players can mess around or can activate stat recording by typing

!startstats
and
!stopstats

So by default the stats aren't recorded and will be set off after each game.. which will also be displayed in the console.

edit: and the !startstats command will also re-start the map with 3 seconds countdown

this is giving me ideas now, and i really wanted ame7q3tny1 if it's the cpma one I think it is..

Now I think running two will be better, one for promode and one for vq3. I can imagine there will be 'whine whine whine arguments' about the physics.

In ng there is a consolemessage.txt file with vars to repeat lines of text at set intervals. It doesn't have the annoying chat beep so could use this to echo maps and vote stuff ops. This will help if the map is a default one like q3dm17 so I will be able to warn players that they will be disconnected if they vote for a map and don't have the mappack.

So maybe this would be useful in consolemessage.txt
