Nice games, 1st one was really clean rnage ;]
But it looks on the screenshots that u don't use brightskins (zz-proskins2.pk3), only forcemodel? They give some advantage, let's say +20% =)

why the hell did they change gravity? :argh:

i thought openarena meant to be free quake3-remake? :ops:

if other servers start to run altered gravity and speed, i will delete OA and turn back to quake 3. :s

also what sense would it make to change the movement speed? it has nothing to do at all with the 125fps-thing.

That comparison is often dismissed because they want to make OA unique but probably lack coders with skills to actually do anything creative with it.

I guess it's not much of an issue because any lack of creativity can be claimed that they don't want to change the gameplay.

Since each release/update has always included 'IMPROVED MODEL SKINS' it makes me wonder why they don't just focus on such things and produce a finished article, then be competent enough to move on to something else.

There was a map called Void or something and it had different gravity.. maybe its properties in the map or the code has certain vars for different map names. Sago also had a server up for a while with that map.. i quite liked it actually

You will not have icons with brightskins on the scoreboard if you use cg_draw3dIcons "0".

Because we enjoy lot these meetings and after some speak with some of you (and intern *r speak) we would be happy to add an 'every' tuesday training with you :) Say us your thinking (not this tuesday to be sure all can build rooster ^^)

Apparently OA is meant to be a Q3 remake only when people make suggestions that Leilol and his cronies don't like. When it comes to introduce retarded changes and workarounds they forget about this rule.

changing gravity to 768 has sense only in OA085 because pmove_float is 1 by default .

pmove_float was introduced to give the game FPS independent physics and I guess the next step is to lock gravity and speed.

Just to say that CPMA and UrT works in the same way : the physics are independent of in-game FPS number.

OA FORUM : Q3, strafe, etc vertex lights is CHEATS GAME FOR NOOBS. THIS IS OA NOT Q3.
