gpl is not the issue.. gpl is a nice concept. it's just all the noobs with limited knowledge, with no social skills that let all the good intentions down and I dont wanna be lumped in the same category as these planks of dead wood

I've got a bout 1GB of various pictures I made for the sole purpose of making textures out of them. I can send them to you if you wish. (5 or 6 megapixel resolution I think)

I have some high res textures too but hadnt used any of them as it would be too much work edit them. But if they were resized to 512x512 then they might be useful.. and downloadble for me @D

gpl Gpl gPl gpL gPL GPl GpL GPL (got it right finally)

Oh, please, don't ban me! :-)

@SnooSnoo:

Hey, nice offer, thanks! We would certainly appreciate this contribution. We especially need source material for ornaments to be used in 'gothic' textures. Can you upload your stuff somewhere (your WEB page, rapidshare, whatever)?

It sounds like a joke, but I'd encourage the use of the WTFPL.

When analysing whether a license is free or not, you usually check that it allows free usage, modification and redistribution. Then you check that the additional restrictions do not impair fundamental freedoms. The WTFPL renders this task trivial: it allows everything and has no additional restrictions. How could life be easier? You just DO WHAT THE FUCK YOU WANT TO.

:O That's made my day xD

While the 'GPL way' sounds ok in principal. However, it stinks when individuals abuse it to restrict and crush the enthusiasm of other contributers of what could be a very strong community, to have things all their own way.

Now....

The WTFPL renders this task trivial: it allows everything and has no additional restrictions. How could life be easier? .. that sounds very much how a strong community could operate effectively :)

Yea Snoo, I got a little distracted there.. but if you have bronze or object type stuff then that would be ideal. It doesn't need to be perfect or even look suitable since parts of it could be edited to suit. We probably have enough, or more than enough wall textures (like metals, concrete etc)

Does anyone know who this is? I know on one of the maps there is a head where the eyes move when you go close to it? Is this the same one?

If not lets find it and get snoos head in there xD

I know there tools to find the textures from map names, but is there actually an online tool where you can enter an image name and it will tell you what map it's used in?

Here are another couple of flags (which I've included in a single image for ease).

These flags are used a number of times and I've noticed them missing on remake maps.

They don't need to be highly detailed. However, they must be completely original. If noone touches them, then I will just make inferior ones, since I don't play ctf :P

I found the A-Z reference guide which is probably more suitable for my capacity.

I tested it on a special mumorial for Jocke

Mmm ... the dc_mappack contains almost all the q3a/ta textures. Maybe it needs to be repacked without the textures.

The list of the included maps is very very interesting :

Code::
dc_map02  -->  q3dm1
dc_map03  -->  q3dm2
dc_map04  -->  q3tourney1
dc_map05  -->  q3dm3
dc_map06  -->  mptourney1 ( shotgun instead of lightgun )
dc_map07  -->  inedited ( pro-dcmap7 is based on it )
dc_map08  -->  mptourney3
dc_map09  -->  q3dm4
dc_map10  -->  q3dm5
dc_map11  -->  q3dm6
dc_map12 --> q3tourney5 ( really unplayable because of the too high fog effect )
dc_map13  -->  q3dm7
dc_map14  -->  q3dm13
dc_map15  -->  inedited
dc_map16  -->  q3tourney2
dc_map17  -->  mptourney4
dc_map18  -->  q3dm16
dc_map19  -->  q3dm17
dc_map20  -->  q3tourney3
dc_map21  -->  q3ctf1
dc_map22  -->  q3ctf4
dc_map23  -->  inedited ctf map
dc_map24 --> mpteam2 ( ctf map a bit different from the team arena version )

Since in some maps there are some powerups , eventually using them on TOURNEY3 requires some server config modifications to disable BFG and the other powerups ( it could be still valid even if the mappack will never be uploaded ) :

Code::
seta disable_weapon_bfg "1"
seta disable_weapon_grapplinghook "1"
seta disable_ammo_bfg "1"
seta disable_holdable_teleporter "1"
seta disable_holdable_medkit "1"
seta disable_item_quad "1"
seta disable_item_enviro "1"
seta disable_item_haste "1"
seta disable_item_invis "1"
seta disable_item_regen "1"
seta disable_item_flight "1"
