w1zrd mentioned the idea of a flaming sword for an angelic character to use. since my knife model is working, it wasn't too much extra work to do a sword.

currently both my knife and sword override the gauntlet model, but it would be good if they could be additional weapons.

i've finished the modelling part of the sword. i wasn't happy with the crossguard, but that's fixed now. next i need to make a better skin and see if i can add animated flames. here's the latest pk3...

Umm, I wouldn´t like to get spanked by one of these :argh: Good job!

Since claws for devils seem almost impossible to make, another color of sword or flame (if animated flame is possible) could be used for them mb...

good thought jericho. i suppose i could make a metallic looking sword and have different coloured flames for the different teams.

no idea how to get the flames to work, but they would look cool.

Dunno either, but as I recall, railgun has an animation even in it´s idle state, so it should be possible. Lot of work I guess though...

I think it's done with the shader scripts. Using another texture file for the triangles that holds the flame and then script it should do the trick I guess (that's how the chained bodies in Q3A breaths after all). Sadly, changing the color for team may not be possible through... But I might be wrong.

Couldn't that be done with a base shader and using the same armour/team colour on the mesh, and simply overlay an animation cycle like a flame with a high transparity on top of it?

(I believe it's done in Q3A and Visor's armour)
