In not really familiar with the gameplay in Urban Terror so I can't really tell what makes a good map. I was wondering if you guys could tell me which map do you consider the best for 4v4 bomb mode and why?

For a small game like that I'd suggest any small, single layer (no upstairs/basement) map which has the bomb points relatively close. I'd say Abbey, Austria, Prague, Ramelle (I love Ramelle) and Turnpike are probably the best suited to my suggestion.

Ambush kinda fits my suggestion. Although this map is large, a lot of it doesn't get used for bomb mode as the points are so close together. It has a bad point though, there's a bad spawn point for blue (CTs). I'd even recommend removing this map from the servers rotation.

Of course that's not to say that other maps wouldn't be suitable, but a 4 man team isn't very large in my experience, and would better be suited to smaller maps with closer bomb points.

Also it's down to how you want the map to play I would say.

For example if the bomb points are relatively close together and the game area is closed in e.g alleys/rooms/corridors, the game can often lean towards rushes/mobbing, if its a vast area instead people tend to camp and snipe the points.

But one thing i think really works well is when the two bomb point areas are obscured well from each other, and also more so where there's the chance to do a fast plant at one bomb point or a slow at the other ( like kingdom / uptown / abbey / mandolin ) specially mandolin as Terrorists / red can rush or sneak, results in nice varied games n_n

If the bomb points are very far away from each other.. i will hate it lol, but an example of that kind of map is Riyadh, its not so bad really but if you get damaged badly you're abit fucked.
