Subject says pretty much it all. The good thing about some people being absurdly retard is that it makes you choose your company better...

I am confused (as always) :mph:
You've come to the wrong place if you think that we aren't retards, but on the other hand, you've come to the right place if you were looking for better company and a nice bunch of people

Nice to have you around mate :rotfl:

PostPosted: Sat Sep 01, 2007 2:57 am    Post subject: the really annoying apple problem... Reply with quote

My english is not the best, but i have to write this.... im unsing an apple powerbook g4 notebook for 1 year now. i really love apple mac & stuff. but now... its really annoying.

i told you sometimes about my pixel-bug display. first, there was only a horizontal 1 pixel line over my screen. then 2. then 10...... now 2/3 of my 17* is with that fucking pixellines or only black. the strange thing, i really care about my notebook, out of the blue the damn lines appear.

so- i went to the apple shop here in town to repair that shit. they said, 2 little chips of my display fucked up.....

now, the big thing.... those 2 little chips = 1200$ !!!!!! WTF?! you can find my notebook, new for 1100$ on ebay....

annoying. i called apple support. "nope, no garantee on those chips, you have to buy them NEW". fuck.

so i search google.

:| :| ITS NOT MY FAULT. its an "manufactured"-problem. all the powebooks with the serial number W85.... have this problems.
great.

apple? NO SUPPORT.

over 10000 damn notebook have got the same problems. serious. i brought this shit thing for 3000$, and after 1 (!!!!) year its fucked up?

but im not alone. over 1000 people with the same problems wrote to apple, decussions on different mac-boards/forums.

apple strikes back. they called some hackers, to delete (!) the forum topics, or censor some of the topics.

here check out this short youtube vid, to see my problem:

fuck. damn fuck. its so fucking annoying. i really really cant buy a fucking little chip for 371237193$, it not my fault, DAMN FUCKING APPLE! shit customer service. no recall. nothing.

i found an website with powerbook display problems: please visit it! and read the little text.

website

im buying now 2x 21*flat screen monitors remove my fuckin display, and use my powerbook for a good slim home-computer ;) and its much cheaper then repair.

my boss at work has got the same notebook, he brought 3x new displays... damn!

im now offline for a few days, but see you soon back here & at the servers.
then i can continue my work for the rainbow header ;)

sorry for writing this stuff, but i have to because im really pissed off..

cheers! hanso.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems and I hope that you'll be able to get a replacement or something. :(

Isn't this the problem that we all experience if ruled by a monopolized firm doing business? For them it is not the customer that is important, but rather how much money they get in their pockets. Recalling a large number of allegedly broken computers will cost them a severe amount of money, so why bother if there are a few hundred people complaining and screaming?

They already sold their product and made profit from it..

Sounds harsh and rude? Well, that is the reality of it. Look at certain gigantic software manufacturers and it gets even worse.

Yes, why would we need patches for software. They are selling us bareley done software. Some things will never get done like MSW. Well, consumerism is consuming us I guess.

ok, this is being used for a driving simulator, but i reckon the steering wheel could be replaced with a mouse and keyboard.

with the ioquake3 engine being open source it would be possible to take what happening in the game and convert it into instructions for the chair. there could be minor movement for running and jumping and bigger movements when you get hit. it would be a bit distracting at first, but it would make the game more immersive.

Dude, it might be good for driving a car, but how are you gonna simulate movement when trickjumping, bunnyhoping, circular strafejumping, rocketjumping and so on... I mean even astronauts dont get that banged up! ;)
