Seeing as we have more and more new players to both Open Arena and even Q3, coming in, trying the games and enjoying them, they tend to find their way to Defrag sooner or later since it usually heavy populated and very active there.

So, for these new players it would be great if we could have more material, more help and more knowledge to share with them so I was wondering if someone would be interested in taking on a role as a tutorial maker, or collector if you like. Where it's a matter of gathering the info that new players will need.

I'm not talking about only written tutorials, but also demos, videos and so on.

We currently have gunnarbot as our defrag-guru and additionally we have some skilled Q3 defrag players around.

More material is needed, so if you are interested in helping then simply start posting here, contact gunnarbot or myself and we can share the things we know with our new players.

One idea could even be to separate defrag from rainbow in the same way we did with the server statistics, so that we can focus all defrag contents in one location.

Ideas, thoughts, rants..?

Maybe scrap the wiki and make more use of sticky topics?

Hey I have two strafe jumping theory videos from jedi knight 2. You need VideoLan media player to play them. I dont have links to them so I'll put as attachment if they are not too big.
Attached is the Strafe Jumping 101 vid.
Edit well I guess not the file is about 45MB.
Here is the website URL he used for the 102 theory vid.
www.funender.com/quake...theory.htm

Update: I found the strafe jumping 102 download, but could not find the 101 vid.
files.filefront.com/St...einfo.html
This should be a direct link to the download page.
Well gesh I just found strafe jumping 101 download here.

I kinda got lost when it talked about the vcos delta stuff, but with commodores 102 strafe vid you dont need to know advanced calculus. Download the video it talks about the perfect angles for acceleration.
