The cat looks awesome...Now that I tried Nexuiz I learnt to forget about the non-sensical mix&match approach of OA regarding the models. They are just orders of magnitude better.

0.7.7. introduces new performance issues for me (windows) ... only get 60 fps :( while ~90fps has been normal for me
...I'll try it with ubuntu, maybe it works there :) (had performance issues so far with 0.7.0-0.7.6 on ubuntu, that's why I used it in windows where everythign was fine...)

PopeJo - if you can be arsed, can you try these settings in my cfg. I just saved a few of my own graphix values without sets so you can '/exec gfx'

Just curious what I would expect, I only have 128mb video card and a crappy system. I still manage 125fps but not one for detail.

RAM and resources will also lower your fps. Is it stable or change randomly moving through areas?

0.7.7 (5/28/2008)
- Fixed "Getting stuck bug"
- Fixed logging bug
- Fixed UI crash
- Fixed overflow in Multiplayer list + Some of beast's changes to server list (longer names)
- Instantgib and All rockets disabled during single player startup
- Clears nextmap after single player
- Windows only: new SDL.dll allows Caps Lock and Num Luck to be used as keys.
- Using protocol number 69, this should only now show servers running 0.7.7

Hm, stopping nabs from trying to connect to a server running another OA version at the costs of procotol compatibilty.

Is there any decent model now (bright color like arachna/default, good hitbox like sarge and distinguishable painsounds like ayumi)? ;P

Or maybe new (good) maps? oa_rpg3dm2, aggressor and dm6ish seem to be the playable default oa-maps. :X

I don't see why maps like oa_dm5 or ce1dm7 even made it into the OA mappack. (The retexturing of oa_dm5 is a good thing thou) The corridors are so small that you can't even evade enemy projectiles, leaving the maps in grenade spammers' hands. ;P

Now I need something conclusive, something nice to avoid "let's see if YOU can do a better job in making a free game! go play cs!"-replies.

Grats on the update. Updating is a good thing, I guess!

it's only that approach because q3a had that approach
if q3a didn't then oa wouldn't either

thx for the advice chiq, but it didn't help.
most of my settings are already the same as yours, but mostly lower (picmip 5 ...)

can't be my hardware, because 0.7.0/0.7.1 run just fine on windows

I'll play around with the settings some more, but I'm getting tired of it.

it has to be your hardware or something, probably the driver
I run OA fine with picmip 0 on a geforce2.
