I hav noticed it more and more in 1on1 matches. Some players are choking the server with 999 ping. It takes a longer time when they get kicked by the server automatically (console message "...overflow". Sometimes it really sucks, when u hav got a run but unfortunately u hav to wait...is it possible to kick them as soon as they reach this high ping level? I don't mind high pingers, unless they haven't got major lag.

it is possible to kick the player with the 999 ping.
Is it on your server or at a other where you havent adminrights?

Perhaps sv_maxping 998? I have no idea if it would work though.

nope...the problem is when a player become connection interrupt, than you cant nothing do. You can kick him...more not. the sv_maxping have nothing to do with the 999 ping. But i must know...is it a privatserver or open?!

I have changed the time-outs from previously 700 seconds, to now a more humane 120 seconds. This applies to RN|1on1#1 only for the time being, if it works, then we'll change it for some other servers as well.

make it 30 seconds, thats enough...
when someone has a disconnect, he won't comeback anyway
so i would propose 10 seconds to avoid someone gets kicked while he has minor interrupts..

Well decreasing the time-outs also cause that u can't idle anymore (in order to wait for other players).

the timeout rule has a problem:
when you are alone on a 1on1server you cant wait for a enemy so the servers are always empty...

I had also noticed the timeout value was too high in the configs of some servers, but forgot about it again.

I use 30 seconds as timeout on my servers.

I will sit down during this weekend and re-write ALL server configs, passwords, settings, e.t.c

So bear with me until it's done..

You could write a global server config and include it in per-server configs using symlinks and exec.

In the per-server config will only be the motd, fraglimit, timelimit, gametype, etc.

The global server.cfg will be exec'd in the very beginning of the per-server config. And values from the global server.cfg can be eventually be overwritten later in the per-server config.

I wanted to do it like this. But had no time, yet.

That is just what I had in mind. I will also make it easier, and global, for our admins to execute the correct files e.t.c.
At the moment there are random files on random servers so there is no way to know which file on which server needs to be executed for what command (unless you ask me or Jack), so that needs to be changed.

I hade decided that I will spend this weekend fixing the configs and servers; so that's the plan :)
